Job Description
The person filling this role will act as the point person for these efforts, gathering and vetting requirements from CDS, working with vendors, in-house developers and engineers to scope and design processes and system configuration, guiding QA team activities, shepherding UAT, and coordinating Production rollouts.
5+ years of technology experience designing, developing, and delivering products using Agile/Scrum methodology.
Cable/Media industry experience, specifically with media workflows. Understanding of file-based workflows and associated tools/technologies (i.e. MAM, Aspera, Signiant, encoding/transcoding)
Knowledge of Cloud services & technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.)
Experience with development languages & technologies (e.g. JAVA, Groovy Scripting)
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate and translate complex ideas into easy to understand business terms for stakeholders and management.
Strong technical competence and ability to learn new applications and concepts quickly.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment.
Collaborative team spirit, with a willingness to share information transparently.
Consultant Responsibilities
AWS/Cloud – conceptual understanding. Experience would be nice but we can determine that based on the person’s resume and phone interview.
Application Support– primarily MPX/ThePlatform ( STREAMLINED CONTENT CREATION FOR THEPLATFORM Cut highlights instantly and publish to thePlatform during TV shows and live events. ). Which is a media publishing/orchestration/distribution system used to deliver content to primarily non-linear platforms. This is why media technology experience is desired. ( MAM, Aspera, Signiant, encoding/transcoding)
Solution Analysis, Development and Implementation:
Research and development of technical requirements for new partner on-boarding and change/new feature requests related to our current publishing workflows.

Gather business & functional requirements through interviews, JAD and user story sessions, consultation with SMEs and/or existing systems documentation.
Provide analysis of business requirements, processes and workflows with suggestions for improvement. Identify areas where process, technology, development of new systems or enhancements to existing systems and/or integration solutions can lead to increased efficiency and productivity.
Understand the functions and processes provided by the current systems. Understand and accommodate the requirement constraints imposed by the current systems.
Provide detailed analysis resulting in clear, concise and unambiguous system requirements. Document detailed use cases that cover alternate and exception flows.
Provide mock-ups of user interface. Lead design discussions and identifies design options.
Ensure requirements are understood, agreed to and signed off at the appropriate early stages in a project.
Work with QA to develop and implement test plans, cases and schedules, based on intimate knowledge of system functions and workflows.
Work with management to identify issues and roadmap
Application Support:
Work closely with development team to support current systems, in terms of enhancements and trouble-shooting.
Document issues consistently and clearly in accordance with A+E standards.
Ensure that repeat defects and break fixes are minimized. Focus on analysis of issues and provide recommendation for avoiding common defects.
System Documentation:
Review and update existing workflows and requirements documentation.
Create documents for undocumented workflows and requirements.
Organize and store all documents electronically in a manner consistent with EMS team standards.
